OUR CONTEXT
There are about 1 million black people staying on the South Coast of KwaZulu-Natal of South Africa. Many of them have never heard the pure Word of God. A large percentage is infected with HIV/AIDS. Only ± 30% of the population are employed. Domestic violence occurs regularly, rape, murder, burglary and praying to the forefather spirits are the norm.
WHAT WE ALREADY DO
We believe we are already making a difference by doing what we do best: training lay preachers and giving them a solid Biblical Foundation by helping them to obtain a recognized theological diploma and university qualification. Currently we have 1 tutor, 22 students and we are using study material provided by MTC and NWU.
We are, however, also reaching out to the community by supplying Sunday school material and Bibles. We would like to broaden our spectrum and are prayerfully considering the calling of a full time missionary to assist us with the increasing number of students and the planting of reformed - based churches.
What we also want to do
In the rural areas there is a large number of children who are orphans, due to both parents having died of HIV/AIDS. Many of these children have to go to school on an empty stomach. Schools are pleading for help to feed these children. There is also a huge need in rural schools for library books as they have none or very few books. Our dream is to also be able to lend a helping hand with these deserving causes.
The trust is totally dependent on donations, both from national and international sources.
